The German Research Foundation (DFG) is funding the new Research Unit "Dissection of a Brain Circuit: Structure, Plasticity and Behavioral Function of the Drosophila Mushroom Body.“ It involves 6 research groups and 2 associated members at five universities (FU Berlin, Bonn, Cologne, Göttingen, LMU Munich) and the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology in Magdeburg. At the Institute of Zoology the Computational Systems Neuroscience group headed by Prof. Dr. Martin Nawrot is member of the Research Unit and the group of Prof. Dr. Kei Ito is an associated group.
