Our research is mainly on evolution of arthropods. Currently we are focusing on the following topics:

• Phylogeny and Taxonomy of Zygentoma, Mantophasmatodea and the megadiverse Tenebriniodae
• Evolution of Venom in Arthropods
• Biodiversity and Biogeography of Insects in arid Environments
